چکیده

As part of our recent studies on the effects of high fluorine (F) on the cecal tonsil of newly hatched chickens, the same broilers with 400, 800, and 1200 mg F/kg in their diet were used to investigate the changes in the cecal tonsil content of the cytokine proteins interleukin-4 (IL-4), interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), and interferon gamma (IFN-γ) by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The results showed that the content of these cytokines in the cecal tonsil was significantly lower (p<0.05 or p<0.01) in the high F groups II and III than in the control group. Lower cytokine levels in the cecal tonsil can impact the local immune function of intestines by affecting pathways that decrease the lymphocyte numbers and/or lymphocyte activation.

Decreased IgA+ B Cells Population and IgA, IgG, IgM Contents of the Cecal Tonsil Induced by Dietary High Fluorine in Broilers

Fluoride is an environmental and industrial pollutant that affects various organs in humans and animals. The cecal tonsil is an important component of the mucosal immune system and performs important and unique immune functions. In the present study, we investigated the effects of dietary high fluorine on the quantities of IgA+ B cells in the cecal tonsil by immunohistochemistry, and the immuno...

Analysis of the Toll-Like Receptor 2-2 (TLR2-2) and TLR4 mRNA Expression in the Intestinal Mucosal Immunity of Broilers Fed on Diets Supplemented with Nickel Chloride

Toll-like receptor (TLRs) are important innate immune receptors, and TLR2 and TLR4 play an important role in intestinal mucosal innate immunity. It has been found that nickel (Ni) can affect the immune system in broilers. The purpose of this study was to analyze changes in TLR2-2 and TLR4 mRNA expression levels in the intestinal mucosal immunity system of broilers induced by dietary nickel chlo...

Effects of increasing dietary concentrations of corn naturally contaminated with deoxynivalenol on broiler and turkey poult performance and response to lipopolysaccharide.

In this study, 2 experiments determined the effects of increasing dietary concentrations of deoxynivalenol (DON) on performance, intestinal morphology, and measures of innate immunity in broilers and turkeys. For experiment 1, the 3-wk study used 5 concentrations of DON (up to 18 or 10 mg of DON/kg of feed in broilers or turkeys, respectively) from naturally contaminated corn. The BW gains were...

Effects of Dietary Inclusion of Raw or Treated Iranian Oak Acorn (Quercus brantii Lindl.) on the Performance and Cecal Bacteria of Broilers

The effects of raw and sodium hydrogen carbonate-treated oak acorn were evaluated on broiler chicken performance and cecal flora. A total of 340 one-day-old broiler chicks were used in a completely randomized design with five experimental treatments and four replicates with 17 birds each. A corn-based diet served as the control and four treatment groups were diets containing 20 or 25% raw or tr...

Toxicological Effects of Nickel Chloride on IgA+ B Cells and sIgA, IgA, IgG, IgM in the Intestinal Mucosal Immunity in Broilers

The objective of this study was to investigate the toxicological effects of dietary NiCl2 on IgA+ B cells and the immunoglobulins including sIgA, IgA, IgG and IgM in the small intestine and cecal tonsil of broilers by the methods of immunohistochemistry and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Two hundred and forty one-day-old avian broilers were randomly divided into four groups and fed ...
